Editor’s letter: How the Talisman will operate during COVID-19 outbreak

Editor’s note: Since we first published this letter, there has been an update that WKU will have online-only classes for the rest of the semester. This letter has been updated to reflect that change.

With the recent changes to WKU’s academic calendar, the Talisman wants our audience to know that we are still here to keep you company, albeit virtually. Although students are currently advised to go home as classes will be online-only for the rest of the semester, we will be working remotely to continue publishing.

On our website, WKUTalisman.com, we have created a map that we will update daily to track COVID-19 cases in Kentucky — we hope you find it to be a valuable resource. We will continue to follow the ever-changing news of the virus, steps being taken against it and tips to protect yourself. But we’ll also publish lighter content unrelated to the virus to lift your spirits and stories similar to what you’re used to seeing from us.

Because the Talisman staff will be working remotely, our content schedule on our website may be lighter than normal. Nonetheless, we’ll be here, sharing new stories with you as often as possible.

As for Issue 8 of the Talisman magazine, we are currently working hard on the finishing touches and are excited to share it with you. There is more information to come on the theme and when the magazine will be released for your reading and viewing pleasure.

We will keep you updated on any news we have regarding our online content and magazine. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy out there, Hilltoppers.

Best,

Team Tali
