Long shows to watch over summer break

Summer is prime time to catch up on all those Netflix shows that have slipped by during another busy semester on the Hill. The long break from classes allows for time to binge longer series, and it’s time we want to make sure you take full advantage of.

Here are some binge-worthy shows on Netflix that are perfect for a long summer break.

1. Shameless (6 Seasons)

The Gallagher family is not one to mess with. On this show, Frank Gallagher is a raging alcoholic divorcee and his oldest daughter Fiona must take care of the other five children: Lip, Ian, Debbie, Carl and Liam. This show is hilarious and serious all at once.

2. How I Met Your Mother (9 Seasons)

Old man Ted recounts how he met his wife to his children. The story is told mainly from flashbacks and hails many famous actors like Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel and Cobie Smulders.

3. Supernatural (11 Seasons)

Brothers Sam and Dean Winchester fight off demons, gods and monsters in this cult-drama originally aired on the CW.

4. The West Wing (7 Seasons)

This classic political drama tells of the presidency of Josiah Bartlet through the eyes of his major staff. It stars Michael Sheen, Rob Lowe, Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford.

5. Orange is the New Black (4 Seasons)

OINTB is based on the true story of Piper Kerman and her time in women’s federal prison. This Netflix original has a massive following — so much so that a fan hacked the show and released the fifth season online. If you’re patient enough, you can catch the 5th season on June 9.

6. The Walking Dead (6 Seasons)

Zombies rule the earth and the few humans left must ward them off. This show stars Andrew Lincoln as sheriff Rick Grimes and Norman Reedus as fan-favorite Darryl Dixon.

7. One Tree Hill (9 Seasons)

This classic teen drama tells the story of brothers Nathan and Lucas Scott and their love of basketball and girls.

8. Criminal Minds (11 Seasons)

FBI investigators solve crimes by getting into to criminal’s heads. The crime drama stars Mandy Patinkin, Shemar Moore and Matthew Gray Gubler.
