Nashville might be music city, but Bowling Green’s local music scene is constantly growing. Here’s a calendar of some of the live music you can catch this month right here in town.
Wednesday, Sept. 11
440 Main is having Wine Down Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. You can call (270) 739-0450 for more info.
Thursday, Sept. 12
Head over to Mellow Mushroom around 6:30 p.m. to hear live music while enjoying a slice of pizza.
Friday, Sept. 13
Fountain Square Ministries is having a night of hymns at 6:30 p.m. Later on that night, High Fidelity will be playing at 440 Main starting at 9 p.m. Also at 9, Justin Kalk will be playing at 643 Sports Bar and Grill until midnight.
Saturday, Sept. 14
With the weekend in full swing, Saturday will bring three events. From 6-10 p.m. Vibe, Trap and Paint Part Two will be at Jaycees Pavilion. Hope Harbor is having a benefit show at Tidball’s at 5:30 p.m., the Summer of love and consent event, which will feature performances by Girl Tones, Ax and the Oak, Jamie Resch, Young Romantics, Waco Bell and more. 440 Main will be hosting a performance from Three, starting at 9 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 15
Crossroads Bar and Grill is set to have a Blues Jam set from 6-9 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 17
Starting at 6:30 p.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church will have a stained glass music series. For more info on the event call (270) 842-2525.
Thursday, Sept. 19
From 6-8 p.m. UAW Hall Local 2164 will be providing Bluegrass jams. If that’s not for you, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. SKyPAC will host Indie Americana quartet Mipso. Mellow Mushroom will also be providing live music starting at 6:30 p.m. for their customers.
Friday, Sept. 20
This Friday is jam packed with shows, bringing different options for everyone to choose from. The Warehouse at Mt. Victor will be hosting a Susto concert starting at 6:30 p.m. From 7-8:30 p.m. Eastside Church of Christ will have hymn singing. Starting at 9 p.m. Funk-N-Blues will be playing at 440 Main. From 9 p.m. to midnight, 643 Sports Bar and Grill will be hosting a Cambell Harrison show. The last show to close out Friday night is Lilly Hiatt/Dan Luke and the Raid at Tidball’s starting at 9 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 21
Mellow Mushroom will be hosting Brews and Tunes from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Starting at 7:30 SKyPAC will host Orchestra Kentucky who will be playing songs from the Beatles album “Abbey Road.” Just a couple blocks away at 440 Main., Scott Steele will be playing at 9 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 22
Southside Baptist Church will have Homecoming 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. First Baptist Church will have a Chorale Concert starting at 3 p.m. To end the day, Crossroads Bar and Grill is scheduled to have another Blues Jam set from 6-9 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 26
Starting at 6:30 p.m. Mellow Mushroom will have live music for all its customers.
Friday, Sept. 27
The WKU Symphony will play their first show of the semester, called Fall Colors, at Van Meter Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for students cost $6. Vivation will be performing at 440 Main starting at 9 p.m. Also starting at 9, The Lone Canary will be playing at 643 Sports Bar and Grill.
Saturday, Sept. 28
The Capitol Arts Center will host the Kentucky Acoustic Music Festival at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and The Golden Age, The Mt. Victor Revue and Bowling Gypsies are the three featured bands. Soul Train Unplugged feat. Melody&Harmony will be performing at the Historic RailPark & Train Museum from 8-11 p.m. Starting at 9 p.m. Lightly Blended will be playing live music at 440 Main.
Sunday, Sept. 29
To wrap up music for the month, Crossroads Bar and Grill will have another Blues Jam from 6-9 p.m.
