The term “broke college student” may apply to many students at WKU who are currently living a less than luxurious lifestyle. The Talisman came up with six different places that offer student discounts in Bowling Green to prevent Toppers from having a negative bank account balance.
Alumni Hall
Alumni Hall, a retail store that sells WKU merchandise, offers WKU students a 10% discount on all products. Students can show their student ID card to their cashier to receive the discount. Students can also give their cashier their Topper email address to receive additional awards. Students get a $10 coupon off for every $150 spent once they sign up for Hall Pass Rewards with their email. Alumni Hall also gives military, veteran and faculty discounts of 10%; all you need is military and faculty ID. Alumni Hall is a great place for students who want to increase their school spirit.
There are two locations, including one at 760 Campbell Lane Suite 115 and another in the Greenwood Mall. Both Alumni Hall locations are open seven days a week and hours vary.
Target
Target offers all college students a 15% discount once a year. From skincare to dorm essentials, students often find themselves carelessly spending too much money during a trip to Target. To receive this discount, log into your Target account online, go to settings, scroll down to “Student,” click “Get Verified,” enter your information, wait for a follow-up email and submit the required documents. Once received, you can use your annual 15% off with any in-store or online purchase. For in-store use, show the code to the cashier. It is limited to full priced items on total purchases at checkout. Students will need to get re-verified every three years.

Hard Copies Records & CDs
Hard Copies offers WKU students 10% off. The store’s selection varies from old jazz to the newest released records. Students must show their student ID card at checkout to receive the discount

Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant
Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant offers WKU students a 10% discount. The Mexican restaurant is a popular spot for WKU students when they feel like eating off campus. Puerto Vallarta is a sit-down restaurant, but you can also order food to-go, however, to receive the discount, you have to call the order in advance. Before you pay, show your student ID card to your waitress or waiter to receive 10% off your order. Puerto Vallarta is a great place for students who appreciate Mexican cuisine and a homey atmosphere.
Puerto Vallarta has locations at 2800 Scottsville Road Suite 7, 1632 U.S. 31 W Bypass, 741 Campbell Lane Suite 12 and 7128 140 River Pl Ave. Hours vary at each restaurant.
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream gives WKU students a 10% discount on all items, including food and gifts. It’s a small drive-thru and walk-up shop. With the store’s close proximity to campus, it’s a convenient ice cream shop for students who need a little “pick-me-up.” All ice cream is made fresh, and Bruster’s sells ice cream cakes as well.
Bruster’s is located on 2712 Scottsville Road and is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Corner Bakery Cafe
Corner Bakery Cafe offers a 20% discount to WKU students. Students must show their student ID card when ordering to receive the discount. Corner Bakery Cafe is a great, chill place for students to study for finals while drinking a warm coffee and eating a fresh muffin.
Corner Bakery Cafe is located at 1951 Scottsville Road and is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
