Gallery: Auroras light up the Bluegrass

The Northern Lights, formally known as the Aurora Borealis, shone through parts of Kentucky from Tuesday, Nov. 11 to Thursday, Nov. 13. According to NASA, these color glows occur when atoms and molecules collide with energetic particles from space.

Incase you missed out on seeing the auroras in person, Talisman website visuals editor Kaitlyn Webb, along with website photographers Bradi Hawkins, Jacob Stanfield, Carlee Hite and Adin Parks, captured the sky in multiple locations. From Shanty Hollow Lake and Mount Pleasant Church of Christ Cemetery in Bowling Green all the way to fields in Smiths Grove, our photographers worked to capture the lights from unique different angles.
